This hoya species is a petite fast growing hoya species. The name "myrmecopa" means 'ant hole', referencing its natural habitat in tree cavities often cohabited by ants. Suitable for growing in hanging baskets.
Features:
- 🌿 You will receive plant shown in photos, packed in its pot
- 🍃 thickly succulent, small (around 6 cm by 2.5 cm), and emerald green, taking on reddish or purplish hues when exposed to higher light levels.
- 🌸 flower color varies by variety, ranging from cream with pale pink tinges to yellow or purplish-pink, usually with a white or yellow corona that has a red or pink center
- 📍 Grows well in temperatures between 20-35 degrees celsius.
- 🌱 Vining/climbing habit perfect for trellises or cascading from a pot
Care Tips:
- Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Tolerates morning sun but avoid harsh afternoon rays. Too little light may slow growth.
- Water: Allow the top few centimeters of soil to dry out between waterings. Use the "soak and dry" method and avoid waterlogged conditions.
- Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity (50–70%). Benefits from misting or added humidity in dry environments.
- Temperature: Warm grower: most suitable temperature range to grow is 20–35°C. Keep away from cold drafts and protect from temperatures under 15°C.
- Soil: A light, airy mix is essential. Use orchid bark, perlite, and coco chips for excellent drainage and root health.
- Feeding: Feed monthly during the active growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced houseplant or orchid fertilizer.
- Growth Habit: Moderate grower with vining stems that can be trellised or left to trail. Trim occasionally to encourage bushiness.
Notes:
- Plant will be posted in its pot to minimise transit stress
- Leaf shape and color may vary slightly by season, light and growing conditions
- Ideal for beginner, intermediate to advanced collectors with a love for the unusual foliage
