Shimmering Foliage Beauty
Hoya coriacea ‘Silver’ features broad, green leaves beautifully speckled or splashed with silvery variegation. This cultivar is a vigorous grower and a striking foliage plant even when not in bloom, but when it does flower, expect creamy yellow to pale pink blooms.
Perfect for both new collectors and seasoned Hoya lovers, ‘Silver’ is a must-have for those who love bold leaves with a subtle shimmer.
Features:
- Broad, leaves with silver splash markings
- Clusters of yellow to blush-pink fragrant flowers
- Easy-care, fast-growing, and ideal for trellising or hanging pots
- Native to Southeast Asia
Care Tips:
- Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Tolerates medium light but silver markings are more pronounced in brighter conditions. Avoid strong midday sun.
- Water: Let soil dry out between waterings. Water more during active growth (spring–summer), and reduce in cooler months.
- Humidity: Prefers moderate humidity (40–60%) but tolerates typical indoor levels. Happier with a bit of extra moisture in the air.
- Temperature: Intermediate grower suitable between temperatures of 15–35°C is ideal. Avoid temperatures below 10°C. Keep out of cold drafts.
- Soil: Use a well-draining mix (e.g., orchid bark, perlite, coco husk). Hoya roots hate being soggy.
- Feeding: Feed monthly during the growing season with a general-purpose houseplant fertilizer. Switch to a bloom booster for flowering.
- Growth Habit: Strong, trailing vines with silver speckled leaves. This species prefers to climb so best grown on a trellis.
Notes:
- Rooted and well-established in pot. Plant will be packed in a pot to minimise transit stress
- Each plant shows unique silver patterns – some more speckled, some more splashed
- A robust, beginner-friendly Hoya with collector appeal
