Hoya sp. GPS-7240 is a tropical perennial vine native to Southeast Asia. It is a climbing or trailing vine that can grow up to 3 meters, and benefits from a trellis to support its growth. Is considered an uncommon hoya. A beautiful hoya to add to your collection.
Features:
- 🌿 You will receive plant shown in photos, packed in its pot
- 🍃 small, plump, oval-shaped leaves that often have silver splashes. When exposed to sufficient sunlight (sun-stressed), the leaves can turn a dark purple color.
- 🌸 peachy orange star shaped flowers
- 📍 Grows well in temperatures between 15-30 degrees celsius. Prefers medium to bright filtered light
- 🌱 Best grown in hanging pit where stems can trail.
Care Tips:
- Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Tolerates morning sun but avoid harsh afternoon rays. Too little light may slow growth.
- Water: Allow the top few centimeters of soil to dry out between waterings. Use the "soak and dry" method and avoid waterlogged conditions.
- Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity (50–70%). Benefits from misting or added humidity in dry environments.
- Temperature: Intermediate grower: range is 15–35°C. Keep away from cold drafts and protect from temperatures under 15°C.
- Soil: A light, airy mix is essential. Use orchid bark, perlite, and coco chips for excellent drainage and root health.
- Feeding: Feed monthly during the active growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced houseplant or orchid fertilizer.
- Growth Habit: Moderate grower with vining stems that can be trellised or left to trail. Trim occasionally to encourage bushiness.
Notes:
- Plant will be posted in its pot to minimise transit stress
- Leaf shape and color may vary slightly by season, light and growing conditions
- Ideal for beginner, intermediate to advanced collectors with a love for the unusual foliage
